Personal History Born and raised in Shangha, Lily had a normal and traditional upbringing. As typical of Chinese families they focused on Family, education and hard work.

Lily practically worshiped her father as he was the chief of surgery at the Shanghai Regional Hospital. She always admired him for being able to save lives and relieve the pain of others.

By the time Lily was ten, she knew what she wanted to be. She began studying for a career in the medical field and even spent time shadowing her father at work, and was delighted that she was asking so many questions and were able to grasp the complex concepts.

Through advanced tutoring by her father and AP classes in school, she was able to obtain her goal.

But the one thing she also wanted to do was travel and talked with her father about a career in Starfleet medical. He approved and she submitted her form for the testing.

Shortly after her seventeenth birthday, Lily began attending the academy.
