Are all players from the USS Phoenix?

Yes

Do all players need to explain their presence or lack of presence at the main camp upon joining

Yes

What is the state of the saucer section of the Phoenix?

It’s a mangled mess of a ship. At the time of the crash it tumbled across the land, and lodged into the side of a mountain. It’s unlikely, however not impossible for someone to survive it. If you would like to be your entrance point you would have to be an early in the game arrival, or assume your character has been in camp since the crash. We would be looking for a really exciting escape story from the unstable, fiery ship.

Can there be marines on the game?

Yes - but they will be screened closely as we do not want Rambo-style marines. There must have been a good reason for your marine character for having been on the ship at the time of the crash as it was a diplomatic research vessel. Ideas are welcome.

Does my character have to be starfleet?

Absolutely not. In this unique situation, a mix of civilians and starfleet will be living in this community. The base commander is starfleet, and the base XO is a civilian.

Can my character hold a leadership position if they were not starfleet?

Yes. Character position will be built upon needs of the community. Experience in a field, and longevity at base camp plays a big part here.

If my character ranked higher than another, do I get the top position?

Simple answer is no. Time in the game will play a part; however, if people in departments want to swap around internal ranks, and play out some positional or political switching around, it is a natural part of a community. We only require that the command staff be in the loop and all parties are happy with the storyline.

What if I was CMO, and a civilian doctor has the top medical position?

See above answer. Position in the old life means less than experience and time in the game, but it can have a fantastic impact on the storyline and character development.

What type of homes will we live in?

Work in progress, but nothing says we can’t make tree houses, modular houses from scraps, caves, whatever. We’re stranded, safety and security is a huge concern. It is possible we will set up a secure area inside the downed ship, but that is pending play out in the game, and deciding of the command crew.

How much power will we have?

Extremely limited, and if we have any it would be used for emergencies and community survival only.

What about language?

Well glad you asked. Lack of power means lack of universal translator, which means everyone’s actually KNOWN languages would be what they start off speaking. Fear not. Mrs. Mitchell is a linguist.

What about replicators?

Remains to be seen, depends on power situation, but don’t depend on it.
